Pre Interview
1. Do not
arrive unprepared.
2. Do not
wear heavy make-up, cologne or perfumes
3. Do not smoke before your interview
4. Do not bring anyone else with you: your ride, friend,
sister, child or pet. This interview is for you only and not
for anyone else
5. Do not show impatience with the interviewer, even if you
have been kept waiting too long.

During the Interview
7. Do not let the interview
process stress you out . Use breathing techniques and try to
remember that it's not a life and death situation - there
are plenty of jobs out there.
8. Do not slouch in your seat or do anything else that makes
you look disinterested
9. Do not be critical of employers
10. Do not show you are money minded.
11. Do
not ask questions for the sake of asking questions
12. Do not exaggerate or lie about yourself or your work
history
13. Do not sit around doing nothing if you have finished a
task take the initiative and look to further help out
14. Do not discuss controversial topics such as caste ,
religion, politics and gender relations.
15. Do not read from notes or your CV. You should be
familiar enough with your own history to be able to talk
about it unprompted
16. Do not be negative or criticize your current boss or
company as this will create the impression of a lack of
loyalty
17. Do not focus on your
weakness or lack of experience
18. Do not be afraid to use
non-work experience to highlight a particular skill
19. Do not start to discuss
salary or remuneration unless the subject is bought up
first.
20. Do
not show much interest about Holidays , working hours ,
appraisals, sick leave, stock options etc.
21. Do not assume that you know the outcome of the
interview after it is over - you are not a mind reader
22. Do not repeat the same
question which was already explained by the interviewer.
23. Do not be arrogant and assume you have got the job.
Nothing turns off employers more than someone who is
disrespectful and over-confident. |
