30 Things to Do Before and During the Interview

Pre Interview

1. Do a deep breath inside and let it out slowly which will helps you to release tension.

2. Dress professionally, even for "business casual" work environments.

3 . Find out what kind of interview it will be so you can prepare

4. Know where you are going, and the person you are going to see, including their position within the company

5. Know what position you are applying for.

6. Arrive 10 minutes early to give yourself extra time, just in case.

7. Bring a notebook for notes.

8. Take extra copies of  your resume, reference lists certificates , testimonials  and any relevant work samples

9. Turn off your mobile.  Treat the interviewers with respect and give them your  100% attention

10. Remember you are   Selling   yourself.   Be positive about yourself and your experiences.

During Interview:

11. Call if you are going to be late .

12. Ensure your body language is always positive from the moment you walk through the door.

13. Never sit until asked to sit.

14. Look bright and attentive, and speak clearly and confidently. 

15. Remember that only  less than 10% of  the interviewer's opinion of you is formed by what you say - the rest is judged on how you look, act and sound.

16. Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy and drive. 

17. You will not be offered a position if you are half hearted .

18. Be calm, composed and controlled.

19.  Be open - but keep details of your personal life closer to your chest.

20.  Maintain good posture. Sit upright .  Do not sit in a relaxed Position.

21. Know why you want to work for the company and how you can contribute.

22. Know that you are different  from other candidates, what are your strengths.

23. Take your time  if you need to think. Make sure you understand the question .

24. Give specific examples to support your answers to interview questions.

25. Quote real examples of when you have  used certain  skills.

26. Listen carefully to what is discussed.

27. Get feedback on your performance, whether you were successful or not.

28.  Thank them for their  time - smile, firm handshake.

29.   Remember to ask for a business card.

30.  Remember firms are choosing from a number of qualified applicants: don't take rejection personally.
