HOMEWORK

Do a detailed research about the company, the position and the interviewer.  Review your past work experiences and be ready to support your achievements. Keep all the accreditation certificates, memberships, Medals etc. Spend time either on the Internet or at the library learning as much as possible about the company and the most recent developments in your chosen field. Try to know the Job Description and reporting structure in detail.

ROLE PLAY

Once you have completed your research, start rehearsing. Be ready for all general questions which will start from your resume. Write down your answers and try to make a concise presentation.

BODY LANGUAGE

Greet the Interviewer with a firm handshake. Try to maintain friendly eye contact with your interviewer.  Maintain open and upright body posture throughout the meeting.

POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

Be positive and realistic about your skills, goals. Discuss your positive team playing attitude as per the Job Description provided to you. Please note Interviewers are expert in reading your mind.  Avoid negative comments about past employers and job profile.

LISTEN AND ADAPT

Be very sensitive to the attitude and style of the interviewer. Listen and act as per the interviewer’s behavior.   These details will give you helpful clues for your presentation.

RELATE

Your answers should be related to the interviewer and the company. Focus on achievements which are relevant to the position to which you have applied.  Be Specific.

ENCOURAGE

You should encourage the interviewer to share information about their company.  What is the company culture?  When and why did they join the company? What do they enjoy the most?

PUNCTUALITY

Reach the venue well in advance. Never ever be late.

DRESS CODE

Formal dress is often recommended which suits to the company culture.  Dress should be neat, clean and conservative.

HYGIENE AND BODY ODOUR

Be hygiene.  Do not apply more perfumes and it may work against you.

PAST TRACK RECORD

Today's interviews are behavioral-based. The questions will be worded in such a way as to elicit a personality or work trait through how you have handled things in the past. Make your answers short and to the point. Use your work and education as the basis of your answers. It is not acceptable to say you cannot remember an applicable instance. Emphasize the point the interviewer asked about and remember another later question will verify your answer.

COMPENSATION

The employer ask you how much you are looking for. Respond by saying, "I am interested in your position and I would like to earn as much money as possible. I will entertain any fair offer. What would you offer me?" If the employer makes a firm offer and you want the job, accept it. If you are doubtful or undecided ask for 24 hours to think it over. Never refuse an offer of employment until you have time to think it over and discuss.

THANK YOU

Before leaving the interview hall, thank the interviewer for taking the time to talk with you. Follow up with a personal thank you note or email stating why you are interested and that you can do and want the job.

CONSULTANT

If you went through a consultant , after the interview come back to see your consultant or call immediately. Update them about the status.  Which will help them to pass on the opportunity to other candidate and look for  other best opportunities for you too.
